I agree with this article, and Alastair’s logical approach to this problem.

And hence it seems to me that the captain and his crew performed intelligently and did not make reckless decisions, unlike the Coast guard (whose voices we can hear from the recorded tape) was simply “fixated” on getting the captain back onboard the ship and throwing accusations like “do you want to go home” and “are you refusing to go back”, etc. so bluntly towards the captain before analyzing the overall situation of the ship.

I believe it’s the coast guard who should be prosecuted for talking improperly to the captain, and making a fuss about his beliefs before even making a logical analysis of the whole situation. Moreover, in an accident so close to the shore, coast guard has to do things themselves and save people’s lives, and hence should himself have climbed onto the ship rather than asking the captain to do so.

Unfortunately with situations like this, the company probably thinks it’s easier to hang one person out to dry than soil the company or the ships. Until this investigation is complete we won’t know and even then I’m not positive they won’t push to pin it all on the Captain to wash their hands of it. Poor guy possibly saved hundreds of lived to have his own destroyed.
